Audience: Individuals who previously attended a Mi-BTAM basic training and would like additional practice

Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) is the systematic process of investigating and assessing concerning behaviors. The primary goal of the BTAM process is to evaluate the difference between making a threat and posing a threat to a school community and then to work collaboratively with families and students to mitigate life situational factors contributing to thoughts of violence and aggression. This is a refresher for those already trained in the basic Michigan K-12 Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (Mi-BTAM) model endorsed by the Michigan State Police Office of School Safety (MSP/OSS). Agenda will be centered on application and practice in the BTAM process, with a focus on tabletop exercises.

In an effort to save paper, please bring a laptop or tablet to this training to view presentation materials. If you would like to borrow a Chromebook, please contact Mandy Laninga (mlaninga@oaisd.org)

    No cost

SCECHs and Social Work CE credits will be available pending state approval
