AI (Artificial Intelligence): Key Concepts and Ethical Implications

Delivery Mode: Fully Online

Course Description: Dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with our comprehensive instructor led online course designed for educators. "AI: Key Concepts and Ethical Implications" offers a deep understanding of AI fundamentals, prompt engineering techniques, and the ethical considerations surrounding AI applications. This course is structured into three engaging sessions, each focusing on critical aspects of AI and its responsible use in educational settings.

Course Outline:

Session 1: Introduction to AI and Prompt Engineering

· Explore the basics of AI, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.

· Learn the importance of prompt engineering and master various techniques to craft effective prompts.

· Engage in hands-on activities to practice creating and comparing prompts, enhancing your ability to generate desired AI outputs.

Session 2: Ethical Implications of AI

· Delve into the ethical considerations of AI development and deployment, focusing on fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy.

· Identify and understand different types of biases in AI systems and learn strategies to mitigate them.

· Participate in case study analyses to identify ethical issues and biases, and review AI-generated content for potential inaccuracies and biases.

Session 3: Responsible Use of Generative AI

· Gain insights into generative AI and its applications in education.

· Learn guidelines for the responsible use of generative AI, addressing ethical concerns and ensuring inclusivity.

· Create lesson plans incorporating generative AI, evaluate AI outputs, and revise prompts to improve results.

· Use resources to determine the privacy and security levels of generative AI tools. Success Criteria: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

· Write prompts using different prompting techniques.

· Compare and evaluate GenAI outputs, revising prompt language to enhance results.

· Describe guidelines for the responsible use of generative AI.

· Review AI-generated content for potential "hallucinations," incorrect reasoning, and bias.

· Utilize resources to assess the privacy and security of generative AI tools.

Join us to enhance your understanding of AI and its ethical implications, and to develop practical skills for integrating AI responsibly into your educational practices.
