Co-Teaching: Collaborating with My Teacher Candidate

St. Vrain is committed to growing and supporting the best talent.  Starting summer 2020, all cooperating teacher/student-teacher placements will utilize a results-based co-teaching model in which a cooperating teacher and a teacher candidate work together with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment as well as physical space.  Co-Teaching leads to higher student achievement and stronger teacher preparation.

    All classwork is in Schoology.

Cooperating Teachers will be Able to Do the following:

    • Identify the different roles co-teachers might take in the partnership
    • Collaboratively assess and provide feedback to students
    • Efficiently use time and different models for co-planning.
    • Use a variety of data models
    • Utilize video to reflect on the co-teaching implementation
    • Build trust and create a positive co-teaching partnership with a teacher candidate
    • Use surveys to reflect on the co-teaching partnerships and make necessary adjustments
    • Support teacher candidates during the "Four Stages of Concern".
