St. Vrain is committed to growing and supporting the best talent. Starting summer 2020, all cooperating teacher/student-teacher placements will utilize a results-based co-teaching model in which a cooperating teacher and a teacher candidate work together with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment as well as physical space. Co-Teaching leads to higher student achievement and stronger teacher preparation.
All classwork is in Schoology.
Cooperating Teachers will be Able to Do the following:
- Identify the different roles co-teachers might take in the partnership
- Collaboratively assess and provide feedback to students
- Efficiently use time and different models for co-planning.
- Use a variety of data models
- Utilize video to reflect on the co-teaching implementation
- Build trust and create a positive co-teaching partnership with a teacher candidate
- Use surveys to reflect on the co-teaching partnerships and make necessary adjustments
- Support teacher candidates during the "Four Stages of Concern".
