Shared Writing Instructional Model
|
All students can engage in meaningful learning about writing regardless of their communication needs and skill sets. Please join us as we learn about the Shared Writing instructional Model for teaching writing to students with intellectual disabilities. In these sessions, we will learn about this model, plan a lesson to implement with students and share barriers and successes we encountered when delivering these lessons. SWIM's approach to writing includes research-based learning maps to identify individual instructional goals for students who are working on writing on any level. SWIM focuses both on the writing process and writing product with the ultimate goal of the students conveying meaning in text. Please plan to attend both sessions that will be held at the ARIN IU 28 office from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on October 8, 2024 and December 10, 2024.
