An ever-growing base of peer-reviewed research evidence in concert with the neurodiversity movement has started a sea-change in speech-language pathology practices for those who work with autistic students.
From a neurodivergent-affirming lens, and the research evidence, SLPs will receive updated recommendations regarding assessment, analysis, and treatment of autistic social communication in the public-school systems.
Participants will leave with a working knowledge of contemporary autism research theories, and an alternative set of trauma-informed, evidence-based best practice guidelines for autism service delivery, along with suggestions for where to start.
Rachel Dorsey, MS., CCC-SLP: a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with over 8 years of clinical
experience working with autistic clients of all ages, as well as, 32 years of
experience as an autistic person.
